Dear QEA Community,

This year we are holding our first ever Winter Festival on the evening of the 26th November from 5-7pm in the school gymnasium.

The event is about bringing our community together before the craziness of the last month of the year. We are organising lots of fun activities for the kids/families to join in together. Since it is the first time we have done this, we wanted to share with you what to expect and ask for Volunteers to help out with the organising, donations and the stalls on the night.

Food Bank Donations –

Food Bank donations will be welcome on the night from any families that wish to contribute on behalf of our school.

Food and Beverage –

We are asking for bake sale donations both savory and sweet. These will be for us all to eat on the night ‘per slice’, muffins, tart, scones, cakes (no nuts please).

There will also be Hot Chocolate and warm Mulled Apple Juice to drink.

Crafts –

The kids will be invited to join in the arts and crafts on the night and will contribute to a whole school Winter Festival Mural that will be located in the Gym throughout December. We are really excited to do this with the kids and welcome volunteers to help support this.

Face Painting –

We are asking for parents and older sibling to volunteers to help us provide face painting throughout the evening of the event.

Lucky Dip and a Gift Table –

We will be asking for Donations of ‘New/Like New’ adult and children’s toys, costume jewelry, activities, books, bath products, shelf stable biscuits/chocolates etc.

These will be used for the kids to do a little shopping for friends and family members should they wish (the book sale was very popular for this, the kids got so much out of shopping for people).  We will also use these donations to create ‘Lucky Dip’ game prizes for families to play and win on the night. We will need Volunteers to help to organise the donations and help with the stalls on the night.

Since the event is all about creating a fun night for our community, everything will be by donation rather than charging set fees. Please feel free to give the kids loonies and toonies to use on the stalls for gifts, cakes and games. We are very excited to have the opportunity to share this event with you all, and as always we cannot make this happen without the generosity of Volunteers time and donations. We welcome the involvement of the kids to volunteer with caregivers on the stalls and in the baking as much as possible.

Should you wish to volunteer your time we shall be looking for volunteers, please sign up below.
